Standards

Since I believe in following standards where such are available, I'll validate this site to conform to the following standards:

HTML 4.0 Transitional. The most common, and in my opinion least cumbersome of the current HTML standards.

CSS. Cascading Style Sheets, to move a lot of the layout and presentation issues out of the HTML, which after all is a markup language and not a page layout or presentation tool.

JAVA/javascript. Since I don't need it, I don't use it on the site. Should I find out something that would truly improve by using something like Java or Javascript, count on me using the standard version, without vendor-specific extensions.

Systems

This website is running on a Linux system with the Apache webserver. It was written on a variety of systems, using just text editors and the occasional graphics program to manipulate the images.
